Now, the TikToker-turned-pop star has given us a follow-up to the song—though not quite in the way you might expect. On Wednesday, October 30, Rae took to her Instagram Story to reveal a fresh hair color for fall with her nearly 35 million followers. The new hue, fittingly named “diet blonde” seems to take inspiration from her hit song and it was brought to life by celebrity hair colorist Matt Rez.
As seen in the selfie, Rae’s new hair color features subtle highlights that add dimension and depth, giving it a sun-kissed look that isn’t overly platinum but more natural-looking, with slightly darker roots and lighter ends for balance. While we imagine that calling this color “diet blonde” suggests a lighter, more subtle version of true blonde, we’ve reached out to Rez to clarify and comment and will update as soon as his statement comes through.
