Few movies have garnered as much attention and buzz as the 2024 film adaptation of Wicked, but Glinda the good witch herself, Ariana Grande, is no stranger to the spotlight. For decades, Grande has been making waves in film, television, Broadway and, of course, her extensive music career, so you can imagine that many—Ariana included—were surprised when she was awarded the Rising Star accolade at this year’s Palm Springs International Film Festival. True to her comedic nature, in her acceptance speech for the award, Grande thanked these popular injectables, but later clarified that she’s on a hiatus from cosmetic treatments at the moment.
Ariana Grande Thanks Juvéderm and Botox at Palm Springs International Film Festival
As presenter for Ariana’s award, Jennifer Coolidge, made clear, Grande has been a star for years, so the “rising star” title was a tad misleading. But, Grande took the opportunity to poke fun at herself, saying in her acceptance speech “I never thought at the age of 31 I would be hearing the words ‘rising star’ again, so I want to start by thanking Botox and Juvéderm.“
In a follow up interview with Entertainment Tonight, though, Grande clarified that she’s still off the needle for the time being. “I’m still clean,” she joked, “But when I start going again I’ll let you know, I mean it. I really want to be transparent as a beauty founder. As the founder of r.e.m. beauty I think it’s important to have transparency,” Grande noted on her injection intentions, “I love it and I support it, but I am still four years clean.” I mean, could we love her any more?
