Quinta Brunson earned the award of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Abbott Elementary at tonight’s Emmy Awards. After her emotional speech, we were impressed to see how well her makeup held up, so we had to know what her secret was.
Quinta Brunson’s secret to long-lasting makeup
Celebrity makeup artist Kasha Lassien prepped Brunson’s skin with Beautyblender BOOST Firming & Smoothing Peptide Primer ($29). The product helped “grip the base and ensure Quinta’s complexion stays flawless all night long.” Lassien adds that it’s “packed with peptides, ceramides, and mimosa flower.” It hydrates and reduces the appearance of fine lines while also working its primer magic.
Lassien also made sure to lock in the look “for up to 18 hours” with BOOST 4-IN-1 Firming Peptide Setting Spray ($33). The spray blurs pores and controls shine using micro-powders, she explains. Seeing as Brunson shed some tears during her acceptance speech and her makeup held on tight, we’re pretty impressed with this primer and setting spray duo.
Our favorite element of the look was Brunson’s rosy cheeks. Lassien says she wanted to add warmth and definition to Brunson’s face, which she did with the bronzer from the Bounce Magic Fit Creamy Bronzer & Highlighter Duo ($32) in Chocolate on the cheekbones, temples, jawbone and around the forehead blended with the Beautyblender sponge and the highlighter from the duo, in Deep Bronze on the cheek and brow bones and down the nose and on the Cupid’s bow.
The pop of blush helps tie the whole look together. Lassien used a mix of Beautyblender Bounce Liquid Whip Cream Blush ($22) in Blissful Berry and Flirty Rose to give the cheeks the perfect warm flush.
