Lainey Wilson has been revolutionizing the country music industry her whole career and the past two years have been truly hers when it comes to chart-topping singles and endless awards. Coming off her win for Entertainer of the Year at the 2023 CMA Awards, all eyes were on Wilson at this year’s CMA Awards and our eyes were specifically on her effortless glam.
“Skin preparation and proper layering of skin care and makeup are the most important steps of ensuring makeup does not separate and lasts all night,” begins Wilson’s makeup artist Jess Berios. “The inspiration behind Lainey’s look for this CMA Awards is natural beauty and glowing skin. This year, Lainey’s look is a bit different than years in the past. We focused more on skin, where in the past we did a bit on the eyes. For eyes, we did definition and sexy lashes, but we kept it simple and let that skin glow.” Ahead, the full breakdown of Wilson’s 2024 CMA Awards beauty look, straight from her makeup artist.
Lainey Wilson’s No-Makeup Makeup Skin Prep and Beauty Breakdown
“To create Lainey Wilson’s 2024 CMA red carpet look, I wanted to focus on glowing and beautiful skin,” Berrios reiterates, “To get that glow and that perfect skin we partnered with Beauty Pie. That gorgeous glow all starts with skin prep. I used the Beauty Pie C-Wave LED Treatment Mask ($234) to cut inflammation, reduce wrinkles and plump that red carpet-ready skin, then went in with Youthbomb Radiance Serum ($93) for tightening and light moisture, followed by the Triple Hyaluronic Acid Serum ($50) and Elastic Lifting Eye Serum ($37) for hydration and lift. Lastly, I prepped the skin for makeup with the Wonderfilter Velvet Finish Primer ($25) for a poreless and flawless start to makeup.”
Moving on to makeup, Berrios notes that “Lainey wanted to show off her natural beauty on the carpet and throughout the night. I gave her that natural glow starting with the Superluminous Skin Glow Filter ($42) in Medium with Everyday Great Skin Foundation ($32) in 200 and 300. This gave the skin a touch of color and illumination in the cheeks with the Supercheek Cream Blush in Bare Blush ($25) and Triple Beauty Highlighter Wand ($21) (which we used on the body as well).”
“For the eyes, I brightened them up with Superluminous Under Eye Genius ($25) in Light/Medium in both the inner and outer corners, followed by defining them with the Wondercolour Longwear Eyeshadow Sticks ($24) in Teddy Bear and En Taupe. To finish the eyes off with a little warmth and glow, I used eyeliner in Copperhazy and the Beauty Pie x James Molloy Deluxe Eyeshadow Palette ($30). No eye look is complete without brows and lashes. For those no flake, no smudge, sexy lashes, we used the Wrap Star Tubing Mascara ($22) and framed the eyes with defined brows using Arch-Ology Sculpting Gel ($20) and Superbrow Angled Shaping Pencil ($22). The whole look was brought together with a natural but enhanced lip using Futurelipstick ($20) in Cowboy Nude and Wondergloss Collagen Lip Oil ($20) in Nude Nectar and Noisette.”
