Last night’s CFDA Awards were packed with show-stopping fashion moments and epic makeup looks, but Blake Lively’s glam was in a league of its own. Her chic look was brought to life by celebrity makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez. While every detail of the actress’s glam was pure perfection, it was her lip combo that had fans flocking to Gonzalez’s Instagram. They, like us, were desperate to uncover the exact shades used to make her pout look extra plump—and fortunately, we’ve nearly got to the bottom of it.

On Instagram, Gonzalez revealed that she used all Armani Beauty makeup products on Lively, including the luxury beauty brand’s Lip Power Longwear Satin Lipstick in the shade 106 (which, tragically, appears unavailable or discontinued at the time of writing). While she didn’t share her exact technique for achieving the fuller lip look, the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants alum gave fans some more intel via a behind-the-scenes selfie shared to her Instagram Story.

“When @cgonzalezbeauty does the Gen Z eye shadow trick to make your lips look huge. But then… you wash off your makeup & accept that you’re a millennial girl who, in high school, used to wear lip gloss with alarming amounts of chili peppers inside for a plump because we were THAT committed to bad ideas,” she wrote over the photo.

Lively ended with a witty nod to the less-than-pleasant past method: “Turns out eye shadow is way less painful than Carolina Reapers. Thank you @gonzalezbeauty for not turning my mouth into an episode of Hot Ones.” While the exact details of the “Gen Z eye shadow trick” remain a mystery, we’re keeping a close watch on Gonzalez’s social media for any updates. We’ll keep you posted.
