Dolores Catania isn’t holding back when discussing the Renuvion procedure she underwent this past fall. The 53-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star shared with Bravo’s The Daily Dish that she underwent the skin-tightening treatment to address loose skin around her knees—a concern she’s been trying to tackle for years.

Renuvion combines radiofrequency energy with helium plasma to tighten and rejuvenate loose skin. It’s FDA-cleared and called “the most powerful tissue contraction device available,” according to New York City cosmetic surgeon Tabasum Mir, MD, who also praises its ability to deliver visible results in just one session.

Why Dolores Catania Chose Renuvion

‘For a long time now, I’ve been looking for something for skin tightening,” Catania told the outlet in November, explaining her decision to move forward with New York City plastic surgeon Dr. Joshua Zuckerman. “Anybody who’s been doing plastic surgery as long as I have, I have to say, I’m pretty lucky—except for the fact that back when we were getting liposuction years ago, no one warned us about the loose skin that would follow it.”

This loose skin from prior procedures is what ultimately led her to Renuvion. “I don’t have great genetics when it comes to my legs. They are not my friend, so I have had a decade’s worth of looking for the right skin-tightening treatment, which was very hard to find until now,” she said. “I had read about Renuvion. It seemed to be the latest and greatest. The science was behind it. It’s FDA-cleared. It targets the spots by tightening the skin and not leaving so much scar tissue. So, it really interested me. And when I went in and I spoke to Dr. Zuckerman, he had me convinced that this was the treatment for me [and] what I was looking for.”

Her Results: Then vs Now

Just two and a half weeks post-procedure in November, Catania told the outlet she was already feeling relief. “I’m happy with it so far. It was nice to know that something that bothered me so much and really, really weighed on me to not wear anything short or over the knee unless I was wearing stockings, to not wear shorts in the summer, things like that.”

Flash forward to today, and Catania says she’s still “loving the results,” while offering a word of advice. “It does take about six months to see the full results,” she said. “You have to expect that you’re not gonna see things right away. Not everything is a quick fix. It didn’t get like this overnight, it doesn’t get fixed overnight.”

Even so, she says she’s already feeling better. “I’ve had more confidence,” she revealed. “To be self-conscious about something, especially, something on your body, you’re constantly aware of it. I just want freedom from that. I want freedom from always trying to hide something on my body ’cause I was embarrassed of it or ashamed of it or I couldn’t stand the look of it. So, I’m looking forward to this summer.” (That’s when her full results will be visible.)
