Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will miss his fifth game of the young season on Sunday when his team meets the Pistons in Detroit.
The official NBA injury report lists him as out because of a strained right calf.
Guard Bradley Beal, acquired in the offseason from the Washington Wizards, also is out again with low back spasms. He has yet to make his debut in a Phoenix uniform.
Booker didn't play Saturday in a 112-100 loss — the Suns' third in a row — against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Booker, 27, played 35 minutes in the Suns' loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, finishing with 31 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds. Head coach Frank Vogel said the short time between the two games would lead to time off against the 76ers.
A three-time All-Star and a first-team All-NBA selection in 2020-21, Booker has career averages of 24.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists. He is in his ninth season with the Suns.
Without Booker and Beal, Kevin Durant is leading the Suns with averages of 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
A team with NBA title aspirations, the Suns are off to a 2-4 start. Their next game is Wednesday at Chicago.
